In conjunction with his BAF residency, Joseph Staples created a large-scale vinyl collage titled, Falun Dancer 3. In this piece, Joseph took apart, replicated and recombined a single image of a dancer, aiming to re-create the movement of people, commerce, and life traveling through the buildings and streets of Vancouver and the general downtown environment. The original context and form of the source material was transformed into something completely new- exuding pattern and motion.
